So I sold my Pathy last night :bigthumb: Woohoo

Today I am ordering my Nistune :naughty: Finally! Some mufflers, resonators, flanges and 3" T304 pipe to start fabbing my catback.

And am looking to spend the rest of the allotted funds on wheels. I've got it down to 2 different wheels (I know I know they're replicas, worse yet they're mustang replicas) I love them so if you don't like them please keep the negativity to yourself. I'm asking for opinions based both on looks and on fitment between the two ONLY. So if you've got some info to enlighten me with I welcome it. Here are the two in no particular order. I'll be getting black wheels (I'd love bronze but they don't offer bronze and I don't want silver or chrome), my Z is Sapphire Blue. As always thanks for looking, posting, and voting. More inof on wheels and available sizes can be found here: http://wheelreplicas.com/ (Tony if me posting this isn't kosher please delete the URL)

aside from the way the spokes are, is there another difference between the 2?

What series tire you planning on running??? Cause my worry is that the 17" is not big enough to fill up the horizontal fender gap without the correct tire series.

As far as looks I like them both i also think that both will look great on a jungle green Z. :bigthumb:

If i had to pick one or the other i would go with the saleen wheels.

random: The difference looks wise is the face of the spokes and the fact that the cobra spokes are wider by probably 1/2 inch. Also you cant get the cobras in 18 (at least not from the place I'm getting them).

Mark: I plan on running as much meat as I can fit without fender rolling, but if the wheel ends up being too wide than I'll be forced to roll and start looking for or working on some flares for the rear. As for filling the fender gap: 1) the car is getting slightly lowered on some H-techs which I already have, just need to install. 2) Take a look at MAtt's/legions white Z (which is no more :frown: ) he had the 17x9 +26 all around and it filled the fender well very nicely.

I like that the Cobra's come in 10.5 but don't like that they are only 17's (even though they fill the gaps pretty well like you said). I kinda like the looks of the cobras more personally though as far design goes. For those who don't know (and for reference purposes) Here's what my car looked like at STOCK height with 17x9 +26 all around with 245/40/17 F and 275/35/17 R.

They used to sell them in 18" sizes all black and it used to be about $150 cheaper than that but they are still available and straight from AFS as well. Those were the wheels I was looking at before I bought my house.

LOL, has fun with that :)

IMHO, Id run the 17x9 all around with a sticky 255 in each corner. It'll handle great, and you can rotate. Either of those rears will require a roll to run anything other than pussyricerhiparistretchghey tires out back. Probably a pull as well.

I ran the Cobra R replicas on my first Z (bought the car with them) and if I could replace the center caps they'd be a great 5 spoke:

Disregard the tire size, it was wrong, very very wrong.

Well due to recent developments I am holding off on the wheels, I want to fit ridiculous amount of rubber out back and since this isn't my daily and will never be the whole rotating tires thing isn't a big deal. I'm not planning on racing this car just want it to be a weekend beast so racecar handling isn't priority #1. Thanks for the input guys.

Skip the cobras, get yourself some c6 z06 wheels my friend.

Image
Front:

Wheel size: 18 x 9.5
Offset: +40mm
Tire Size: 275/35/18
Back Spacing: 6.82” (173.35mm)

Rear:

Wheel size: 19 x 12 (30mm + fender pull or over fenders necessary with that. 10.5 is the max with the correct offset)
Offset: +59mm
Tire Size: 325/30/19
Back Spacing: 8.82” (224.09mm)

If you don't like that size, theres also the 17x9.5 c5 z06 wheels?

But if it were between the two, i'd go for the cobra F ones on the top, simple design, and doesn't seem like it would distract attention away from the body.

Anton, equal size up front and rear is more about handling than rotation as well. No understeer, neutral handling. Unless you're going to be a straight line slushbox queen :chuckle:

A 17x9.5 +35mm will allow a 275 under each wheel. That's a lot of meat.

I realize its about handling, I just want the look of 315+ in the rear, crazy meat, like I said its mostly gonna be a freeway cruise queen :D not gonna use it in any events, once the Z is done I'm gonna build something better suited for track duty.

315 you're looking at a 10.5" or maybe even an 11" wheel, and 18" diameter unless you have an NA rear end. Gonna need some work. My 285s are pretty fat, but you sure do love dem fat bottom girls :gapteeth:

I do love them fat bottom girls and I do indeed have a NA rear end, my car was born a NA. The 03 Cobras are 17x10.5 the Saleens are 18x10 either way The place that stocks and sells these is about 50 miles from my house on the other side of Houston so I'd drive up there and physically try them on before buying them (already talked to them, they have floor models :gapteeth:

P.S. Just found some nice turbos for a decent price, if all checks out I may be back on the road sooner than I though. gotta start saving hard :D

5x120 for the vette if anyone was trying to look it up. woops!

But If i came across c6 vette wheels at a good price, i think id just use the front wheels on all corners with 5x120 to 5x114 adapters.

But if I were really ballzy and wanted wide a** tires in the back, i would instead get these wheels:

Image

18x10 front 18x12 rear work equip 05's :dblthumb:

And roll/pull the fenders out like you have never seen. It would be worth it. And would be full of awesome. Nolimit, please consider this.
