Can't accelerate???

The other night i tried gunning my car in 2nd gear, but as i started to hit 3000-4000rpm the car started to kick a little, and then my exhaust started to make poping sounds, but as soon as i got over 4000 it wouldnt do it?? But when i ease on the gas to 4000 rpm it wouldnt pop or kick, does anybody know what the problem is??

sounds like a maf or possible fuel problem.

i tried doing again today and its not popping, it sounds more like the car is bogging down?? I asked my mechanic the same thing he said it was probably a fuel problem... Could it be anything else???

Check your plugs, they may be fouled. If they are I would check your timing and make sure it is dead on.
