They expect that sort of ignorance and rudeness, way to prove the stereotype right. Don't try to judge those that come to America and disregard our customs, they are just following your example.

That being said, you dodged actually addressing the point of my post. Care to take a stab at it?

God damnit AR. Your comment towards Charlio was retarded. This isnt a game your qualified to play in.

TMS - Were Americans. We do wtf ever we feel like. Havnt you lived here?! I mean, GWB, Clinton, FFS... I think that Ms O's move towards the queen was idk, more of a motherly thing. I mean look at the woman doesnt she look like she could use a hug or a hand or something? As far as the Saudi thing.. The US has been lickin Saudi ball sack for years. Remember GWB's dreamy walk with the Saudi King?

Idk, i just see that all as the O's attempt at good will towards most everyone. They are trying to extend an olive branch out to anyone willing to receive it. Its what we really need anymore, allies. We are running short on them if you hadn't noticed.

I doubt these drones were programed for etiquette and protocol anyways.. <-- Carries no real meaning.

I have lived in foreign country for 15 years. I am still proud to be American but I don't disregard the customs and feelings of the people here. Unfortunately watching the behavior of my fellow Americans I must say it is quite easy to peg the Yanks. Not all act bad but enough that it is a fair stereotype. We are bad guests in other people's houses for the most part. For all those that dam Bush for his foreign policy fumblings, many accusations which are fair IMO, now choose not to scrutinize the one when he steps on his crank. You don't touch the queen, you don't show subservience to other leaders, you are equals. This is basic stuff and if Barry had any real experience, he doesn't, or at least the smarts to enlist the services of and heed the advice of advisors in this area, he doesn't, it would not have happened. This is the world stage not Bill Ayres' living room.

This isn't flub #1 either. I am sure Gordon Brown really enjoys the DVDs Barry gave him. I wonder if he sent a runner down to the corner vendor cart for the helicopter models, they were probably made in china too.

Living in a high context culture like Japan I have learned a lot about what one says without words. I wonder how our long time allies, our real allies, the british, feel about the chosen one. He certainly has made an impression, and not a good one.

Listen, until I get a personal apology from every one of them for bombing Pearl Harbor, I doubt if I will be following their customs even in their country. "Sorry" just doesn't cut it for me.

I am sure they feel the same way about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I am sure they also have a good laugh at how Perry "opened" Japan at the end of a dreadnaught's gun barrels. Your attitude is embarassing.

I am not embarrassed by anything. I am also not worried about insulting another person's culture. People live and a pretend world and even if they realize it just keep pretending.

If I was alive and around during WWII, I would have suggested that Emporerer Hirohito be beheaded or turned over to the Chinese. I think it was a very bad decision to let him live free after WWII.

The Japanese (then) were very screwed up and had no concept of surrender. They marched our soldiers for many miles in the Philippines. If I had survived something like that death march then I wouldn't be bothered if Kyoto would be nuked as originally planned.

Bombing Nagasaki was a mistake though since it was the most western part of Japan and had all of the POW's there.

A death march eh, something like this perhaps?

http://www.nativeamericans.com/TrailofTears2.htm

Those naughty Japanese, invading a country and calling it a "colony". Good thing we never did that. Good thing America never tried to exterminate a race, not countin those pesky Injuns and Mexicans a course. Oh wait, I totally forgot about that little party we threw in the Philippines. Let's hear it from the men who were there, shall we?http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/58/

Quote »General Reeve, lately Colonel of the Thirteenth Minnesota Regiment:

I deprecate this war, this slaughter of our own boys and of the Filipinos, because it seems to me that we are doing something that is contrary to our principles in the past. Certainly we are doing something that we should have shrunk from not so very long ago.
Quote »Charles Bremer, of Minneapolis, Kansas, describing the fight at Caloocan:

Company I had taken a few prisoners, and stopped. The colonel ordered them up in to line time after time, and finally sent Captain Bishop back to start them. There occurred the hardest sight I ever saw. They had four prisoners, and didn’t know what to do with them. They asked Captain Bishop what to do, and he said: “You know the orders,” and four natives fell dead.
Every country has done terrible things. You should not be so quick to throw stones in a glass house. You are standing on stolen land. Go visit the internment camps while you are driving around cali, see where Japanese Americans were forcibly moved.

If you had any understanding of history you would realize you contradict yourself in your own post. By keeping the Emperor alive the bloodbath that would have ensued taking the island inch by inch was avoided.

http://www.worldwar2database.com/html/emperor.htm

Quote »Hirohito was instrumental in ending the war. His intervention and subtle calls for surrender convinced the cabinet that it was time to cease hostilities.
Conservative projections placed casualties in the neighborhood of 250000, just for Kyushu.

http://www.japanww2.com/wt21.htm

The war was fomented not by the Emperor but by Tojo and his nationalists. Hell, Yamamoto tried to stop the thing from even getting started but the cooler heads in the Navy department could not stop the whack jobs in the Army from pursuing war.

Stolen from who? Do you have a name or names? What was going on in the past is no different than the stealing today. Don't give me a history lesson about what dead people did so long ago and the books they wrote.

I am telling you what I would do. I am telling you that I don't give a ratsass what throne or what family those people came from to sit and postulate about serfs and turfs.

And don't get me bent on some racist rant that those of the past pursued. They were americans and they did what they felt was right. I am not going to apologize for ancestors taking, defending or embargoing any lands.

This thread is about the royal family, it could be about any royals anywhere as far as I am concerned.

One thing is for sure, I am not about giving up my life to put some blue blood on the throne anywhere in the world.

Yea, this kinda bothers me as well. If my previous post made it seemed like i was defending him i apologize, i was just playing devils advocate. Really, there is no excuse for not knowing and following these little rules that mean a lot to some people.

Bowing to a Saudi is worse than holding hands, although, less ghey..

The DVD set is inexcusable. I would literally call BO and ask for his receipt so i could return them and buy something that has value. "Why do you want to return them?" "Well the thing is.. I own most of them because this is the year 2009 and uh, Hollywoods pretty global... Were also in a recession and i could really use something of value.."

BO doesnt have the excuse of seemingly being half retarded either. Where were his aids on this one.. I mean come the fvk on. Hes the leader of the USA, USE YOUR FREAKEN DROIDS.

The Indians, the Mexicans, the Spanish, the Russians. I would expand on that but I see you fear learning. I wouldn't want to challenge your self-serving historical view with facts.

Interesting. YOU refuse to answer for what people in your countries past did, but YOU expect others to do so for their history.

That is weapons-grade hiporacy but I can't say I am surpised.

You could expand on your ignorance.

I don't give a ratass about some russian, japanese, sumo, or any other brand you bother to bring up.

I am an american and I don't have to apologize our past to anyone, especially someone wearing some robe or some rube in another country.

Go bow down to their screwed up history. I am not. You are weak.

Really?

Let's compare the weight of my comments; thorough, objective, well-supported, and intelligent. to yours. pure unsubstantiated opinion, ethnocentric, vulgar, ignorant, and now that you accuse me of that which you so vividly demonstrate, ironic. You already proved you were a hypocrite in an earlier post.

I am so ignorant and weak I just mopped the floor with you which is why you fall back on juvenile insults, you have nothing left. So, either your assertion is wrong or you are a great deal more ignorant and weak than than you baselessly claim I am. Either way you lose and I have title to your a**. You might not bow down but you are owned.

You are overdue for a Shakespeare quote to try to make you seem smart, Ill wait.....

I must admit, watching you self destruct was fun, but your attitude is unfortunate.
