post some of my dyno graphs for me? lemme know if you can and ill email them to you. i really just want to show my air/fuel ratios so people can have a good laugh, but the power and torque graphs would be nice as well. leave your email address and ill send them in the morning. youll need the dynojet runviewer installed to view them, but ill email that too. thanks!

thanks. what did you think of those air/fuel curves? theyre absolutely appauling! and what about those power and torque curves? those look okay to you guys? (the 3rd one is how we got the car was running before i fixed it, its the green line) im expecting a minimum of that next time i get it dynoed.

-the green line is the stock ecu and slightly better air/fuel curves, which we got be increasing the boost by about 2 pounds (max.)-the red line is the stock ecu-the blue line is the SWAT ecu

enjoy!

why is the gear ratio different in the green-line run? sorry if this is a dumb question.

Why is the tuned ecu causing your #s to be lower than stock?

iliketocrash, this run was done after it had been stopped for a little while. im guessing he just threw it on with slightly different settings or something. the tests were the same, but he merely started testing it a little later, and dropped off a little earlier.

boost_boy, that ecu is tuned for a lot of stuff that my car does not have. the air/fuel ratios were so excruciatingly low that my car just could not make any power. im guessing that by setting the fuel load from the ecu back to non-300hp numbers, it leaned it out a tad, helping with power. please note that im talking out of my a$$, it may or may not be right, im not exactly sure but thats my best guess.

im taking the necessary steps to get my car up to SWAT specs. if i can get my hands on a good ball bearing turbo for under a grand, i should be seeing some good numbers after christmas. i think ill end up with a s15 t28, since i am not looking for much more than 280-300whp as my car must be easy to drive every day.

Why don't you just opt for a T3/T4. I mean, if you got yang to throw away, then toss in a standalone, ditch the factory crapola and toss in a GT3037. But if budget is an issue, A T3/T04B stage 1 spools up before 3k rpm and will definitely shoot you past 300whp below 20psi of boost. I hear everyone is chasing down this S15 ballbearing turbo, but unfortunately theirnot in abundance or their just darn expensive; and lord forbid if it breaks on you. At least with a T3/T4 the rebuild won't be so severe cost-wise. I'm just tossing in my few cents because so many members are shooting for the magic "300", but not realizing that with S15 turbo, you will be pushing it to it's grave trying to get 280-300hp.

The SR20 is a bigger motor and the S15 has the help of a variable whatever system to help it achieve it's numbers. The CA18 has to start from scratch and will require an individual to wind the that little ballbearing turbo up pretty high to achieve big #s. And like most small things, they don't live that long in the big baller's world;) .

A T3/T04b will cost you in the ballpark of $350-$650 depending on where you by it. A decent custom manifold will cost you up to $700 depending on who's doing it and decent standalone will cost you in the ballpark of $1000-$2000 depending on which one you chose. Giving you something to think about as the CA18 don't like fuel hiccups at highboost and tuning with a super afc, you had better know what you're doing and pray that something decides it doesn't want to play anymore. With a T25, a standalone and 550cc injectors, the car I wrecked last year was real beast.

I put on a T3/T04B and it got meaner. The only reason why I'm using a Gt3037 with my engine is because if the complete set-up and I'm going to need all the spool-up I can get. But for everyday use in my girl's car, we use a T3/T04E stage III and I know at 18psi this car is sitting very near 400whp (with some lag of course).

yeah, im on a pretty tight budget. i would just really like a ball bearing turbo because my blowoff valve is kinda lazy and i fear im doing my thrust bearings no good. id really like a gt25 series turbo, as they could put me at my mark, and i wouldnt have to go find another manifold as i dont think i can afford one at the moment. id rather polish and smooth out the one ive got for now.

ill be running some 450cc injectors, the swat ecu, metal head gasket, 2.75in exhaust from the turbo back, stuff in my sig, etc. ill get a used electronic boost controller sometime in the next few weeks as well.

i know i cant ask too much out of those 450cc injectors, so ill probably just keep it around 250 for a while. ive got other things to be worried about, like a good lsd, some shocks and springs, replacing old bushings and other various suspension components, etc. it will probably be after next summer when i can aford to buy a stand alone mangement system, at which time i will let you know, as i will most definately go with sds.

Looking at the A/F curve, i would say at least you don't have to worry that your engine leans out under boost.:)
