From a brand standpoint I like Pioneer better than Kenwood. With that being said, the Kenwood does offer optional Navigation that the Pioneer doesn't. I would think that if you are going to a big screen type of hu that you would want it to Navigate. The Pioneer has a few more optional inputs that the Kenwood doesn't.
Neither of these units offer subwoofer preamp outputs. I wouldn't touch a hu that couldn't independently control my sub. Maybe this doesn't matter to you, but I make adjustments to my sub daily depending on who's in the car and what type of music I'm listening to. This is a big missing feature IMO.
My best suggestion would be to go to a brick and mortar store and use both of these hu's. I thought I really wanted a new Alpine until I saw one at Best Buy. They are cheap feeling Chinese made units with no features, not at all what they used to be. My point is you really may like or dislike one of these units if you get to play with them in person.
