Here is the deal. I replaces the seal on my transmission a little while back. I have a KA24DE in a 93 nissan 240sx convertible that comes out of a 96. It ran fine for a few weeks then i started hearing a noise. Right away I knew what the problem was. The bolts that go from the flywheel to the torque converter came loose. So I went to my local Nissan dealership to get the bolts that I needed. I brought and presented the bolts I needed. Two days later the bolts came in. But they sent me the wrong ones. They sent me the bolts that bolt the flywheel onto the engine which were aparently not the right size. I'll attach a link of a picture of the difference in the bolts. The catalogue number of the ones they sent me was 12315-05E00. I was hoping that someone could help me either find the right catalogue number or right bolt. I have searched and have been unsucessful. Thanks in advance for any help provided. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/r_...296/1

Sorry I don't have any part numbers for you. I'd say just find them at a junk yard if the parts guy at your dealership is that lame. Or go back and try again, but ask to see his screen while he's locating the bolts. Probably he just made a small mistake and looked at the wrong number. I bet he wouldn't mess up again, and you can look at the diagram yourself and confirm the right part number.

I agree with benemorius, the parts guy just got on the wrong page. He needs to look on the exploded view of the transmission, not the engine.

Just to get a start, you can find the four bolts (without part numbers, but torque values are there) shown on sec: 311-313-315 of the repair manual (year '96 pickup given). The flex plate is shown on the exploded view of the engine.

BTW, be sure the flex plate-to-crankshaft bolts have the "retainer plate" in place. This can be missed in engine swap-outs sometimes, when changing from manual to automatic.

In your case, since the flexplate got loose, it may be good idea to use a new flexplate(they do break!). And always use Loc-tite on the crankshaft/flexplate bolt threads.

31009-21X00 is the part number you need according to my FAST system. These are the torque copmverter bolts for all KA24DE's. If the holes are elongated in you flexplate, you must replace it.
