i pretty much learn as i go, and from here on out, it looks like it's going to get expensive real quick. i've done some reading but i'm still not satisfied.

s13 180sx... biggest add-ons:gt28r turbinehks wastegategreddy fmicgreddy intake plenumfull exhaust and manifoldm boost controllerblitz bov

stuff coming soon:

70mm throttle bodynew plugsi've been thinking about cams, but i want to build a solid(bomb-proof) motor firstbigger fuel pump

i could just copy and paste a few links and basically say i want one of everything on there, but these are some things i've been thinking about.

back to my question.. what exactly IS "proper" fuel control? i can think of how fuel could get to the engine faster, but how much fuel and when, i'm guessing is the "control" part?

where to start...i dont really know of a book to link to for fuel systems...but you should start by planing for the desierd horsepower first....if your going 350+ HP you might want to upgrade fuel lines..fuel pump and filters...then..you will need a regulator worth a shiz......

they way a fuel injected system works (if i can explain without pics) is line goes out of tank under the body..to a regulator under your hood..you then set that regulator to the desierd pressure for your injectors...now...fuel line goes to the inlet side of your fuel rail..then from the return side..back to the regulator....this maintains relitive pressure inside the fuel rail...your return line will actually run out of the bottom of your regulator(if ya have a good one) throu the bypass valve....if you ran the return line strait to the tank and passd the regulator you would just loose all pressure to returning fuel to the tank.....to much pressure{depending on limitations of the injector} and you will run rich.....to little and you will starve your engine at higher rpm..and that can result in detonatoin...i hope this helped in some way..i do encourage you to read all you can before you take anyones advise..even this one..good luck.P.S. important:100micron filter before your fuel pump...and a 100 micron before your fuel rail...prevents dmg to injectors and pumps.

i've seen some formulas for fuel and injectors, and i really didn't know what i was looking at. maybe i'm missing context?

here's a more concise list of questions:

how do i know what size injectors to get?after figuring this out, fuel pumps and filters aside, how do i know how much fuel pressure to set everything to?are stock FPRs adjustable?

for the most part, i understand where the fuel comes from and where it goes, but it's the technical stuff i'm lacking in knowledge. the injector size and fuel pressure are probably the questions i need schooling on first.

thanks for helping (and not making me feel like a jackass)
