im thinking about gettin a top mount manifold for my 89 240sx RB20DET swap..i might just be retarded but will it fit or will my hood hit my turbo? doesnt seem like there is alot of room above my engine...also you usually wanna keep ur BOV nearest to ur turbo but why is my stock BOV located right b4 my intake manifold????open for any comments or sugg estions

Simple;

Don't buy a manifold that sticks your turbo higher than your engine. Example, don't buy a cheap manifold that doesn't take clearances into account.

The BOV if served any performance gains from placement would most likely be towards the throttle body. Since after the intercooler you will release less air, and thus when changing gears you'll retain more air in the charged system to begin pressurizing it again. Well at least that is what I understand.

What he said^^. Some cheapo manifolds don't space the turbo away from the valve covers enough to get a big turbo on there. You can get a good sized internally gated turbo on the stock manifold. With that being said, I just dropped $1081 on my forward-positioned, twin-scroll, 6boost manifold yesterday so it should be coming before Christmas!!!
