"Nissan's designation for the G35 Coupe and the V35 Skyline 350GT Coupe are both the same, CPV35. Whether the vehicle is sold in the US, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, or elsewhere in Asia, they are all produced at the same plant and on the same assembly line (Tochigi, Japan). At some points in production different parts are used for different markets. Most of these differences are legal ones however, as they are all essentially the same cars. Engines, Supsensions, Bodies, etc are all the same. There are a few differences however, such as:
* Rear lights on the JDM coupe have orange secondary lighting * Nissan / Skyline 350gt labeling in Japan * Speedometer labeling in Japan * Suede seat inserts in Japan
Having said that, they are all badged inside as Nissan Motor Co. V35, whether they are USDM or not (Inside the engine bay is a little metal ID plate, that is the one that says Nissan Motor Co. V35). Almost all G35s in the US that carry Nissan or Skyline badges were badged that way using OEM (original equipment manufacturer- in this case Nissan) parts. In many cases, this badging was done at the dealer at the customer's request, after delivery. Ultimately the argument over whether or not the USDM G35 is a Skyline 350GT is an argument of semantics." - Forget the source of this statement, but it wouldn't take me long to find it again I'm sure if you REALLY wanted me to.
The new G37 Coupe is known as the V36 Skyline 370GT.
