can someone confirm that a manual brake master cyl is slimmer than a auto?

i need to find this out and ive searched and cant figure it out, ive read people saying that they are but imj not sure, and if it is i hope its interchangeable because i need that real estate in the engine bay to allow room for a vg30dett

The master cylinder is the same. It's the booster that is different. And you are correct, the manual booster is thinner than an auto. It's not much though, maybe an inch at the most.

something i noticed: my base model non-abs s14 has the thinner but wider booster as opposed to two of my friends SE's with abs, one is swapped from an auto, one came with the manual out the factory

I'm only speaking about the s13, I don't know too much regarding the s14. My s13 has abs and the booster is the same size as many other auto's i've seen(mine transmission is swapped to a manual but I kept the auto booster).
