Can someone comment on the ride with 19 or 20 inch wheels

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi,

I am looking for 1st hand experience from someone who have changed their stock 18" wheel to 19" or 20".....

How much firmer do you feel ? Do you feel every crack on the road surface or the EX35 suspension is so soft these 19" / 20" wheels really does NOT make a big different in ride quality....

This is my wife's car and she doesn't like harsh ride, but thought 19" might look good ....

Your thoughts ?

I still have a set of 20's mounted on Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires that I ran for one season last summer but am trying to sell now, and I didn't notice a huge difference in ride quality from the 17" winters that I changed from. A lot depends on the sidewall of the tire itself and the roads you drive on regularily. On highways and city streets you will probably not notice a difference.. but on lesser quality roads, you might. I was happy with mine and didn't feel any excessive harshness from them.

Are you still trying to sell your 20" wheels? Btw, why have you switched back to 18?

yea, the shipping charges from Canada probably will be a killer.
I'm debating whether to go for 19" - that's an expansive upgrade that like you said more for the show in my case since I don't race. I think, if I do just H&R springs, it will be more cost effective. The EX is a bit soft on turns & I hope this will fix some of it.

it seems to me 18" upgrade is not worth the hassle as the difference is too subtle.

Ya maybe so... but your Pictures in that Link are hosted on Photobucket. Could you maybe fix the Links to your Photobucket Album?

Pretty please? ;)

I expected that 19" would look like this, but these are 20". I wonder, then if 19" upgrade make sense for me :)
