ok guys, need yall to help me make a decision on which turbo would be best for me..

one of my buddys has a powerstroke 7.3 with a garrett gt3782/gtp38(not sure yet) n a gmc with the hx35, well hes fixing to upgrade turbos on both(tow trucks) cause of his job needs n he is goin to let me get one if not both turbos for really cheap..

i have a stock neo 6, but i been looking to upgrade turbos for a while along with some other stuff to supoort it, but i would like someone to chime in on which turbo would be good, like the differences in performance.sound,ect... keep in mined that i will be building the motor later on down the road so i need some room to grow....

now i know the hx35 would be a direct bolt on to the rb aftermarket manifold but the powerstroke turbo seems that i would have to get the exhaust housing cause the powerstroke uses v band on both ends but i dont know were i would get it or if would be worth expendin the extra cash for the housing..

any suggestions or info would be appreciated,

^^^what carlos said. the hx35 is a great turbo and cheap to repair/replace. the 37r will be a little large for you unless you are revving high and going for dyno queen numbers

What Rob & Los said. x2.

The 37r is too big, lest you are looking for dyno numbers only.

yeah, i was thinking that the gt37 would be a bit to big, i guest i got intrigued when i heard it spool up... its loud like the gt35, thats one thing i love about the gts.. i never heard or rode in a vehicle with a hx35 either but i rode in a gt35 car n it did kicked a**..

but is there that much diffence in the gt's n the hx's?, the reason im asking that is b/c sickness14 is running the hx40 on his neo n he only has a built head n stock bottom for that he told me on his tread, i dint reaaly think the gt37 would be that much bigger then the hx35..

John (Sickness14) is looking for a different turbo. He currently has an HX40 Pro, and it's too laggy.
An HX35 is roughly comparable to a 30r, and an HX40 is comparable to 35r.

I would go straight HX35.
