Since Venus-Auto sent me the wrong lsd last time, they are sending me another one. To make sure its the right one, they sent me some pictures. Its suppose to be from a R33 GTS-T. Since I have never seen a R33 GTS-T lsd before, I cant really tell if its the right one beside knowing that it has a 5 output flange. Can you guys tell what kind of lsd is it from the pics that I have attached. Thanks

You might want to have someone who knows the different LSD codes. I'd try contacting Night, since he imports rear ends and should know what they look like.

Is the LSD a bolt in, and does it still require a custom d-shaft in an S13? O__o

I live here in Okinawa Japan and that looks like a R33 GST-T to me. Your driveshaft should work for this diff because it has no ABS. I know few guys with R33 skylines I will double check to make sure.

Thanks for checking it out for me guys. How can you tell that the lsd didn't have abs. I heard that the ones with abs has a 2 bolt housing, is that correct? Thanks again

Look at the very front of it, if it had ABS it'd have an ABS "ring" on it...basically a round hump that goes all the way around it and extends the diff about 3/4 on the nose. It'll also have a wire coming out of it. At least that's how it works on 240 diffs with ABS.

It looks like an S14 open diff to me. It doesn't have the vlsd cooling fins on the cover. Ask them if you could get a pic of the orange viscous sticker on the back cover. I can't see it. That diff shown would definantly fit in you're S14 , but I don't think it has Vlsd. Also that diff will not "bolt up". You gotta buy vlsd output shafts. About 200 each side from Nissan.

I have seen enough and swap enough diffs for people over here in japan a lot of vlsd do not have cooling fins especially on the R33 and S14. The orange sticker usally falls off over time. Turn one axle output shaft and the other one should turn the same direction if it is VLSD.

He want to know if you can tell through the pics. He can't physically turn the output shafts himself. Don't all vlsd units has abs? I don't see an abs sensor on the diff shown.

Yeah, I just need to know where the lsd originally come from because I dont want a gearing ratio that would kill me on the launch and one that might not even fit. Thanks again. I guess Ill just tell them to send me that one then.

So not all vlsd units have cooling fins on the back cover. And not all vlsd units have abs sensor wires coming out of the snout. It could be a combination of both (like mine) , or none at all , like the one shown. So basically no one can tell by looking at it, what kind of diff that is. Only that it will fit in a S14. You're just going to have to purchase it and pray it is a vlsd one. good luck.

It looks the same as my r33 gts vlsd, no fins, no abs. The non lsd types probably look the same though...

I had alook at another r33 gts with abs and it open wheeled?? But has a unit connected by a hose to the side of the diff, is this a hydrolic locking type of diff????

Here's a pic of mine.
