I was watching some Youtube videos and I saw that lotus developed Active Suspension before infiniti, Is that true?

Infiniti Q45 video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnC-R3U5vO4

I want a Q45A after seeing that video, But it makes me love mine even more.

Lotus never produced their active suspension.

Citroen was one of the first implementers of a hydraulic pneumatic suspension.

Look at DS 19 and 21 and the SM models.

True to their history, Nissan and other Japanese copied [modified] the best technologies [patents] and developed a lower cost, higher reliability version suitable for mass production.

A process passed first to Korea, now to China and soon to Vietnam and India.

Easy to turn out millions of just ok, just proficient engineers- good enough not brillant or INVENTATIVE. Managing Invention vs Managing Innovation is the clue.

My father owned a 56 or 57 Packard with an active suspension. It also had torque converter lockup. In addition it was supercharged. It was fun!

I doubt either the Mazda or the Studebaker had a computer controlled reactive suspension with hydraulic rams.

Actively switched shock valves as on the later FGY33 ae and t models and the F50 Premium are a quite a different thing as they only adjust shock valve rate electronically and are neither actiive nor semi-active like the Q45a, but rather reactive. EVen the GM Mafna Ride is in the latter category.
