building an S13 concerned w/ the rear sub frame strength and uni-body studs. I've got the nismo subframe bushings and some braces for the rear subframe.

waited till the end for the body, fuel supply and turbo choice. 500rwhp is goal.

want to wrap this project up. Thanks

i really dont think so,i have never heard of that happening on any model S-chassis.

if you have that much HP than your clutch will go first, then your half-shafts and maybe drive shaft, but you will need alot of tire to hold it to the ground.

you will just burn up the tires and when you take care of that, then worry about the other stuff i named before.in short,i think your subframe bolts will be fine.

i am no expert though, but i do know alot about applied force on certain parts.

oh yeah, lets see pics of your ride,it sounds badass.>>>>>>A.J.

If your worried about the integrity of the bolts you could always just replace them with stronger bolts.

This is a ground up build. I've got an exeedy twin clutch sprung, 300z tt trans(maz wrks), aluminum drive shaft shop driveshaft, all new diff bearings, the over sized 5 bolt half shafts and the rear tires are going to be a 275/35/18 or a 265/35... not too sure just yet. The other dude who posted said to change out the studs. to clarify I'm not concerned w/ them breaking but rather tearing from the uni-body. I've seen a built SR tear the front subframe motor mount spots right off the steering rack base. That was w/ nismo motor mounts only... no top mt damper. ( the shock tower to top of motor mt version)

here is a pic of the wheels that will be puttn' down the hp.

I haven't seen any one address the rear subframe strength. other than new bushings or the poly/alum inserts. Any fabricators out there w/ advice?

With enough chassis reinforcement the unibody should have no problem handling the power. If you really want to know pop over to the KAT website and ask Ivan, last I heard his S13 was putting 650-700hp to the wheels, he should be able to tell you about what is done to reinforce the body in his car.

^^C.W.: Ivan's car is an S-14^^

Intense: my bad,i thought you were talking rear subframe not the front. i still never heard anything about it ripping itself apart though.but yeah, you could always find stronger bolts and maybe weld an extra strip of metal behind it to make it stronger.>>..A.J.

as long as everything's torqued down properly without rust eating it, you'll be fine.

there is no rust on this car. I am still on the hunt for an additional brace of some sort for the rear sub frame.

My motor should be done in early Dec. I will get more specs, pics and questions posted as they arise.

Thanks for the info everyone.
