can rod knock damage the head?

title says it, i have an engine that the oil pump failed @ 6k rpm's 1 day and well i started to hear what sounded like rod knock @ 2-3k rpm, the car didn't die right away, but i had to drive it another day and on that 2nd day the car would start but die in a couple of mins(or so i remember), so i was wondering, would the head still be ok, am gonna try to get it checked for warpage and what not but i'd really like to know if the head will be fine so i don't have to look for a valve cover & upper chain cover of a 95 240(they're not the same as 93's).

A rod nock is just a bad bearing on your crank or under a rod cap. I dont know how this would cause the head to fail or warp.

ok so it should be fine?

i was wondering cause it really did sound like the piston was hittin the head somehow but then again rod knock does sound quite a lot.
