I am driving my car with winter tires and I have a noise from the tires or wheels. I know show tires are noisy, but I am familiar with my tire's noise and I believe that noise is higher than my usual winter tire noise. My wife told me that the noise is same but I know it is not (she thinks I am playing too much attention to the car). Anyway, I know there is something wrong. The car has a rumble noise at very low speeds. No vibration, No pulling to one side...just noise.

I tried to find a parking lot to test turning the steering wheel right and left to hear any change in the noise. The problem is all the parking lots are full of pot holes and ice!

I found an underground parking and I could hear the rumbling rythmic noise at very low speeds, but of course I couldn't turn left and right (lots of columns).

My concern is, my 2011 Rogue got hit from rear for two times. I found this TSB NTB10-126 http://www.370zcoupe.com/TSB/1TA32.pdf (sorry for sharing a link from another forum).

Basically it says, if you had a collision, it may damage the wheel bearings.

I did some online search and most people believe a rear ended collision (in my case TWO collisions) can damage the bearings.

What do you think? I will ask my technician to check them, but for 2011 car with 41000kms, it will be hard to convince them to test the bearings.

not likely a direct result in my opinion.
BUT in an indirect way: throwing off your wheel alignment from the impact might cause pressure on the bearings which can lead to faster wear

The mechanic said the source of the noise is the winter tires. My question is, the tires we not as noisy as this last winter. Of course I am aware that winter tires are noisy, but they are the loudest tires I have ever seen. Do tires get noisy when they are worn or get old? They are Nokian Hakkapeliitta R SUV, by the way.

yes. rubber hardens over time. the harder it gets with age, the louder it will be against the road surface. the harder it is, the worse the winter performance.
