I think that would perform similarly to the conjectural Versa SE-R...

Actually, the Versa is based off of the Megane. They share many components (similar to the euro Focus/Mazda 3/Volvo S40 relationship). The 4-door silhouette is almost identical. Here's that link.

Actually, it's not. It's based on the Clio/Micra platform. They do share a lot of design similarities between the platforms, but it's the Sentra that shares the same platform as the Megane. And completely different sheet metal.

hard for me to argue as to which is uglier... the Megane or the Sentra.

(And remember, just because two cars share the same platform doesn't mean they look the same...)

Probably, but why do that when you can out the all mighty SR20 engine in there?

You can drop just about any engine in just about any car with enough time and money.

I say just about because our V's engine bay is not as long front-to-rear as on many cars, so inline-4 RWD's and V8's might not fit so well.

The only reason to go to that much expense is to be a sick puppy and make a super high powered RWD Versa.

However, it would be WAY safer and cheaper just to turbo the MR18.
