Can new engine mount cause vibrations?

Hi All,

I have 98 Nissan Altima GXE.I bought it few months back and loved it. Its a used vehicle purchased from owner.

Couple of days back I changed the top engine mount and now there is considerable vibrations I can feel at slow speed or in ideal.

Is it because its a new mount?

Have you checked out the other mounts. Replacing the one mount might have exposed other problems that were masked.

I complained about the vibrations to the mechanic who replaced it.

His take was it might be a bad mount so he changed it again, which fixed the vibrations issue.

But when I looked at the new mount I can see some cracks around edges. Does this means its an old mount or new mounts can still have cracks?

I will try to get pictures and post them tomorrow.

How bad are the cracks? Can you get pics?

Hi,Here are the photos. This mount is new and 2 weeks old. You can see yellowish tint at the center. It also has some cracks. Its really hard to get a closeup shot of it, but I will try again.

Does new mounts can have such cracks or yellowness?
