I am fortunate enough to buy a wrecked G35 from a buddy of mine. It is a 2005 and was t-boned. The car is totalled and I am fortunate enough to be able to grab the car for $4k.

I have a 2004 G35 that needs none of the parts but I have a 96 Q45 that I purchased a couple weeks back. Can any of the salvagable parts from the 05 G be used for the Q45? Even if a little machining/tweaking is needed?

If not, I will still be buying it to strip the parts for sale. Any good suggestions? Just curious to see if any of you techs out there no of any swappable parts that can be used for the Q rather than buying them new.

As far as I know from what Nissan Techs have told me "the Q is a whole other beast and there is no Nissan besides the little parts that match a 300zx"

Sorry But I have been proven wrong hopefully for me it won't be this time because my reputation can't be that good around here.

Owning one, and a 90Q - I can't think of one thing that's the same... maybe the door switches?

I can't think of anything at all they share in common. Even the oil drain plug and filter are different. Maybe the factory tire iron but I doubt it. Anything electronic is going to be completely different, as Nissan has gone through many changes in electronics.

Since the car was T boned I would wager a guess that all the suspension parts are useless, you may be able to part out the mechanical things engine & trans and maybe some control units.

Oh the trunk lights use the same bulb!

Got it I knew I would think of something.

I figured that this may be the case. Thought I would ask.

The engine seems to be okay, however the trannie took a hit so who knows til it's yanked from the car.

I will keep all posted of any parts that may become available.

Thank you all for your input.

the G stuff should be easy to get rid of..

Save the brakes, they will work on the Q and would be a nice upgrade!

All the 10mm nuts and bolts

I say it's worth trying a few suspension pices just to see if there's any chance some G35 aftermarket may interchange .

If you're selling/parting out the G35 I'd be interested in quite a few parts myself.

There are many parts that you can use but it will vary on how much modification will need to be done to get them to work in the Q45.

At the very least save nuts, bolts, washers, bushings, bulbs, fuses, circuit breakers, fusible links, and relays.

The instrument cluster would be a little futile since its wired into a computer that tells it how fast your going via the wheel speed sensors.

The differential might fit but don't hold me to that.

If its a manual G35 then you have pretty much everything you need minus the adapter plate to make the Q45 a 6-speed. (But it won't be easy and it'll take some time.)

Nevertheless congratulations on your acquisition.
