Can my 2001 Pathfinder have a 3.3L?

So, my Pathfinder had a flashing CEL on accel and everything I read said it was an ignition coil issue. So it was at a shop and they suggested it was the distributor. I laughed and told them my car did not have a distributor but sure as heck there is a distributor sitting right on top of the engine. So besides being baffled by what is causing the misfire (I'm assuming it's a plug /wire issue) now I'm just confused because I can't find anywhere where it says the 2001 Pathfinder ever came with a 3.3l engine. So, can anyone confirm ? Thanks!

I'm telling you, I am a 3.3L...I just find it strange because it is a 2001. Date on the door jam sticker is 12/00. When you run the VIN it comes up as 2001.

Well, it's definitely not a 3.5, that's for sure.
I'm curious as to what the front end looks like (lights, grill etc.).
Can you post another pic of the front, with the hood up?
I can't say for sure what month they started using the 3.5. Maybe someone else can chime in with that info.
Also, if you have the owners manual, what does it say re: model year and engine size?

You'll also know you have a 3.3 if it takes you approximately 17 minutes to get to 60.

Lol....I haven't driven a 3.3L equipped R50, but have trouble imagining what my truck would be like with 70 less horsepower.
When I was shopping around for my SUV back in late 2003, the salesman and mechanic both suggested that if I could afford it, get a 2002 or later Pathfinder.
At the time, I wasn't 100% sure why they suggested that, but now I know. I'm glad I listened.

It appears you may have a 2001.0 pathfinder vs the 2001.5 pathfinder, do some research on the differences. The date cutoff was suppsoed to be 8/00 or 9/00 for the cutoff between to two. My 2001 has 12/00 on the door sticker and its for sure a 2001.5 with the 3.5L engine.

Does it have a stick shift for 4wd or the knob?

There were some issues with the 3.5L given 2001 was the first year they used it, and 2002+ they made some necessary revisions. Ignition coils come to mind thats a common problem on 01s which have different coil packs.
