Can it run without tach signal?

Hey guys!I have a 1995 s14 and i swapped a 1992-1995 180sx sr20det blacktop.We got the whole thing wired up, but we noticed that the #3 pinout where the red/yellow wire for the tach signal is supposed to be is missing. My question is:

Can the sr20 run properly without the signal from the tach being fed to the ecu?

I dont really care if it works in the dash, but i would like to know if it is at all possible for the car to run without the signal. Or if it is not possible, where can i find another pinout and wire?

The tach signal is only an output, so other than not having a working gauge, it will work fine.
