No I think you missed something..
If the torque converter is rated at 2k, that doesn't mean your car specifically will launch at 2k. It depends on weight, engine torque and brake strength. So say your stall speed actually was exactly 2k. If you upgrade the brakes, it just makes the stall speed higher, maybe 2,200-2,500 rpms. Stall speed is the point at which the engine torque overcomes the cars weight + brakes and breaks the wheels loose.
SO if your holding down the brakes and you floor it, it will rev up to around 2k rpms and then the tires will begin spinning (burnout). Assuming you keep holding the brakes, it WILL rev past 2k rpms but the tires will be spinning from the moment the stall speed is reached until you let go of the brakes.
