Im looking for a 95 or newer 240 to build as a project car over the next year or so. I came across this car local and, not knowing a ton about Nissans, would like the opinion of some of you on the car, how much it would cost to rebuild, etc.

Thanks in advange for your replies.

Bump...

...if I'm gonna be ignored, can someone at least let me know if the 95+ 240 are prone to frame damage in a hit like this?

<---wishes he wasnt a newbie...lol

if it runs i would buy it. It might be worth it just for parts...

I would not invest in fixing a salvage title 240 that has been in a wreck unless you absolutly cannot find a 240 and have been looking for over a year.

That looks like a big job, Keep searching and try to find one with no or minimal damage but blown motor or something, rear quater panel isnt a slap off slap on deal, lotta work involved and imo isnt worth it. hope this helps

I didn't answer you the first time cause I'm not sure what to say... Looks like there are a ton of parts ****ed, at least 5 exterior. THen you have to repaint etc. Not worth it unless you can get it under 1500, then it would be a steal IMO

But then again, I bet the car has more than 455$ worth of salvageable parts on it, so its a toss up.

**edit***

current bid on it is at 455$, it will probably raise

at least 500 for KA and trannyIf you can find someone thats been in a front end collision at leat 500interior parts 100-150sell seats to S13 owner. 50-175

but your just looking for a Car, not a way to make hard money. Skip it

I did some searching on my own and am going to pass it up. One thing that caught my eye was the driverside door not aligning with the rear fender (frame bendage?).

Basicly I'm trying to find a car before I leave for college at the end of August. My parents have said that they wont allow me to put any more money into my daily driver any faster (2 speeding tickets in NY killed that idea). Its going to be a "bonding" experience between me and my father even though he knows nothing about cars and or mechanincs. So the car is mostly going to sit in the garage (uninsured, unregistered and trailered wherever its gotta be) until it is done. Then it will most likely be run at the local strip on weekends and driven when the when the weather is nice. Looking to complete project over the next 4 years investing around 5k a year on the car (in addition to purchase price).

I'm sorry about the bitterness before, I was just ticked off that I got more respnces on my Subaru Boards (http://www.nasioc.com) than on the Nissan Boards.

Heres what Im looking for essentially, 95+ or newer 240. If the body is in bad shape, that will get fixed and the KA will eventually be turboed. If the body is in good shape and the engine a wreck, an sr20det will replace it. Its basicly whatever is most cost effective. It was hard enough getting pops over here to concede to building an import let alone spending more than 5k a year on said "rice burner" lol

So, what do you think of the plan, is it plausible?
