can i use an obd2 scanner on my 95 240sx that says obd2 certified

everyone has mixed answers , some say it has obd2 non working parts and that all 95 are OBD1 , thinking my car was obd2 i used an auto zone scanner and it pulled a code , but then see that people say it is obd1 and the code is not correct because it is reading in obd1 not obd2, if anyone can help me out lmk, thanx

Some early 95s were OBD-I. Later ones were OBD-II which have two diagnostic connectors; one is for the 'consult', the other one is for a scan tool.

Look under the dash on the driver's side for the diagnostic connectors.

i found a sticker that reads:

on-board diagnostic(generic scan tool)

connector is locatedon the passanger side

so i guess that means no obdII

I'll assume the scan tool is OBD-II; if it plugs into the diagnostic port, then your car is OBD-II.
