i just bought an 89 240 i have the motor for it i was just wondering i could buy a dohc head and swap it onto my block replacing the sohc head? I also bought a 92 240 which came with the ecu for a dohc engine which i know i will need but i also have the wiring harness and i am not sure if i will have to swap that aswell ! Are the harnesses the same from the 89 240s and the 92's??? oh and by the way the 92 240 was motorless only the trans was there.

No... DOHC will not bolt up to a SOHC. different block all together. DOHC head has a hemispherical spark plugs vs. the side mount of the SOHC. Intake is completely different on the DOHC. This piston configuration is different as well.
You either need to find a SOHC head or do an engine swap. Either way there are lots of write ups covering this subject. the search option in the upper right corner of the site is a great place to start your research.
