can i swap a CD20T from a 96 c23 manual to a 95 c23automatic

Hi
I have a broken automatic 4WD and bought a scrap manual (2WD, rear), both serena model c23, cd20t engine. Except for front driveshaft, everything looks identical, is it possible to swap the engine from the manual gearbox car onto the automatic. All responses appreciated.
