so i go to get tires put on my z rims. i have my stock wheels on and my z rims with bad tires in my car and new tires that i bought online in a buddies car. we get there and bring the guy out tell him what the deal is "hey i have a set of staggered wheels and i need these tires put on them and then put on my car and leave the stock wheels off" he says ok and then starts jackin up the price once my car is on the jack...i was gettin pretty pissed but was like whatever ill pay 150 for this bs as long as its done right so i get back 4 hours later when i am supposed to pick up my car pay the guy walk outside and immediately looking at my car see that there is a 245 and a 225 in the back...walk back in say hey whats goin on can you put the tires on right. so they jack it back up and switch it. well then today i get to thinking if they are just that stupid maybe they put the tires on completely wrong...got a tape measure out and sure enough i have 225 tires on 9.5" rims in the front and 245 tires on 9" rims in the back... im bout to go raise hell and have them fix it but then i was thinking if/when something goes wrong can i sue goodyear for this and make some quick cash. cuz at this point i just really wanna stick it to em cuz it is quite rediculous.

if you incurred any damage to your tires/rims because of the mix up, then you may be able to sue them for negligence. however, good luck getting proof in writing that shows that they agreed to put the 225's on the 9" rims and the 245's on the 9.5's. although it's supposed to be that way just saying "that's how they're supposed to be" may not be enough. if that goes to court, it could turn into a heresay case, unless you can get a lawyer who can prove that they should know better and obviously did the job wrong.

things in writing are almost 100% required in something like this i would think, cause for all they know, you could have asked them to do it that way just so that you could be an a** and sue them. there's people out there they would do something like that

Quite pathetic IMO that you want to sue a company over messing up what tires are put on your car. Even if something HORRIBLE happened and you tried to sue, I am sure the defense would see that you intentionally kept the tires on in hope of something going wrong.I guarantee you any law firm would laugh at you if you brought this idea to them.

my friend got something done at tire kingdom and they crossdrilled his center caps back onto the rim which ruined the center cap. He b****ed and b****ed and they gave him a large credit to tire kingdom.

you can sue anybody for anything but I can tell you know you'll lose a lot more money than you will gain. Like someone said before, no damage, just mechanics stupidity.

In my situation, I had staggered set up as well with older wheels. My front were very low profile tires and backs were beefier. I went to Nissan dealership to get my new brakes installed. The idiots that work there did a tire rotation and put my low-pros in the rear. And it looked weird from the second I got the car. I told them to switch it back and they refused. They said theyll have to charge me their labor rate which is like some ridiculous amount, like $150 an hour or something. Went to a gas station next door and got it done for $15.

Well, they obviously did not perform the service you wanted but the urge to sue the whole company over something this minor is not a rational conclusion. It'd be like trying to sue McDonalds because they forgot your fries!

In any case, just go back to the shop and ask for the owner. Explain to them in a rational and intelligent manner the events which transpired (the first error and the OBVIOUS second error; they are a tire company, so they should know which tires were to go on which rim!). Tell them that you want it done right (don't drive away until it is) and that you feel you should be compensated in some way for your troubles. You probably won't end up getting anything more than a 20% discount out of this but, really, how much do you think you "deserve"?

lol

i wouldn't even think about suing unless you have the time and the the money...and a better reason. Seems like you just want something done quickly...so your best bet is to go to the place you got your wheels installed and tell them your situation. like what people already said..you'll probably get some sort of credit if you get under their skin enough

i was really pissed off since i work out of town and the longer i stay here during the week the more money im NOT making... but i did go in today and explain the situation. (after going to 3 identical goodyears and getting estimates on the same work just to show the guy how much he over priced me(bout 70 bucks more than anywhere else)) and he said he would fix it for free at his convenience or i could pay 104 to get it done now... well im having it done tomorrow morning and that means 3 days i missed work this week which = about 600 bucks out of my paycheck and that makes me quite frustrated... sueing them wasnt a realistic option just something i put out of anger but i once they get done with the work im gonna get the number of the district manager and call him and explain my situation just to make sure my frustration is voiced somehow.

Goodyear shops are independently owned and operated. The price will vary from one to the other. The only problem that I see with the price is that you were crazy enough to pay it. Thats all on you. I will say that screaming and yelling only sets you further behind. The guy you were ( I'm sure) yelling at probally wasn't the guy working on your car. How is that fair to him. I can't say that I would go out of my way to help out someone that is yelling at me, can you?

As for the law suit. That would be small claims court. Good luck with that one as you explain to the judge that they were doing custom work for you, not OEM as that is what they are trained for.

I agree that what they did was very stupid, but maybe you didn't explain yourself clear enough either.

Bottom line is they are fixing it for you at no charge. Hopfully before any damage occurs to your car. If damage does occur to your car then shame on you for driving it like that when you obviously know better.

Good luck to you.

They made a mistake, and they are rectifying it. Take it as a lesson learned, and never go back there again. Spread the word. That's all you need to do.

you hit it on the head. thats EXACTLY what im tryin to do here

also wanna add that it depends on the goodyear since they are independently owned it just depends on the one you go to. although when gettin estimates from places i found that the other goodyears i went to seemed to be much better but they all run on the same pricing which was 30% more than anyone else
