I've got an RB25 Series 1 in my S13. I should have changed out my tensioner and idler with these: http://shop.rawbrokerage.com/p...d=128

before I swapped the motor into my car.

However, I cheaped out and didn't, thinking I'd be alright. Now since the swap I've had a weird noise see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0y3v9qQkAU

whenever it idles.

I am swapping out the idler, tensioner, and tensioner spring. I was wondering if you guys think this might fix my issue (I know it would be a good thing to do anyway), but I was wondering if I could reuse my greddy timing belt or if I'd need a new one? It only has MAYBE 2000 miles on it. I don't think I've even driven the car that much.

Thanks.

Id STOP driving that car until your sure its properly tensioned with a properly working tensioner, you will be really sad if it fails. I'm kinda anal when it comes to timing belts especially on my RB, I generally change it when I remove it for something. Its possible yours is fine, and will work, but just dropping my .02.

belt is too tight. I have had the same problem. You'll have blue on ur idler and tensioner pulley when u take it apart.

Any issue(s) with your valves? I.E. Ticking before you fixed it?

What about after? Was everything okay? I am changing out the parts I linked and maybe the timing belt if I have to..

Hey guys, I found this: zer...wpics

and was wondering if the TORQUE specs for the bolts were the same on my RB25? (Poster is using an RB20)

"Install water pump and torque 10mm bolts to 35ft lbs, 8mm bolts to 15 ft lbs, and the 6mm bolt to 11 ft lbs per FSM. In the FSM it is in Kilogram Meter, but that is the standard equivalent. Torque pattern is clockwise starting with the 6mm bolt."

and

"Install idler pulley and torque to 40 ft lbs. Install tensioner pulley with spring on the right side of the lower stud. Be sure that the convex thin washer is facing outward on the pulley itself, then the flat washer, then the nut. Rotate pulley with 5mm hex/allen clockwise and lightly tighten" 14mm nut.
