Can I repair a rear mirror by myself in my 96 infiniti i30?

Hi.The rear mirror doesn't work.I mean that I can use only by mirror, but the auto dim is broken.Is the auto dim function good?I have never used the function. If it has worth to repair, can I repair it by myself?Thanks.

Don't know much about the auto dim. Basically I can not find how to fix it, if it's not working. Have you checked the fuses?

And I don't know how I lived without it before. It is hands down my favorite feature in my car.

Thank you for answer.However I'm not sure that the fuse is wrong because all of other lights are working. Anyway I got to check again.Thanks.

Does the mirror have a manual dim button? If it does, and it works, it means there is a problem with the light sensor on the mirror. If it doesn't work, it's probably an electronic issue or a power issue. Not something you can fix yourself unless you're very good with electronics.

Do they make auto dims for the side mirrors on our cars?

P.S. I hate Ford F250's with their lights perfectly positioned in my face.

Auto dim is a good if you don't have tinted windows. It darken when bright lights are behind you. I have tinted windows, so it helps when someone is behind me. Or if you have the auto shade, just leave it in the up position. I don't know if they have auto shade for the 96. But my 02 has it.
