My ka24de has a severe knock after running 2 quarts short for i don't know how long. I am trying to remove the oil pan to see if I can just replace the bottom end berrings. I got all the bolts for the pan off and I got the pan loose but I can't get it away from the car. Some one tell me if there is even a chance for me to get buy with just replacing the berrings and if any one knows a good short cut on removing the oil pan please let me know. My Ka has about 91K miles on it.

Gman,Repoman's brother had oil leakage problems in his KA Altima. If I remember correctly you do have to loosen the engine of the mounts to get at that part of the engine.Good luck

i hate gaskets, with exception to the head gasket (knock on wood) i have replaced all of the gaskets that could possibly leak oil (with exception to the timing chain cover gasket (a pain in the *** and still leaking oil which will be fixed as soon as I get out of college mode and back into making money over the summer mode). My KA was/is a leaky b i t c h

yea its just one of those pain in the *** type things taht you have to do, but you feel more confident after you're done, knowing thats ONE less thing that can screw up in the near future on your car

The 240 is going to be a ton different. Not even remotely the same (FWD vs. RWD makes a big difference in positioning of the oil pan).

I don't know if you have to lift the motor on the Altima or not, so I can't comment. Just wanted to get the point accross that the 240 and Altima are different.
