I am looking to build a 280z. I prefer the look of the 76-78 but I can't find any close or cheap. I can find 79 and up.
My question is can I put the early model front end on the 79 and up cars?

No, not unless you are a skilled sheet metal fabricator and body man, but then you wouldn't have to ask ;) The 70-78 cars are an S30 chassis, the 79-83 cars are the S130 chassis, the drivetrain and wheels are completely interchangable, body, suspension and everything else is completely different. The S130's are becoming more sought after, if you really want an earlier car, sell yours and buy the one you want, but keep in mind the S30 cars are a lot less comfortable, the S130 is a much more spacious, quiet and comfortable car.

Thanks very much. That's kind of what I figured but I wasn't sure.
