Can I make a SOHC wiring harness work with a DOHC engine?

This is going into a race car and lots of things are not needed such as lights, wipers, etc.

The DOHC motor will need the DOHC ECU and the DOHC engine wiring harness.

The wiring pin-outs between the two harnesses are different.
