for all you KA-t guys,is it possible to keep the stock KA engine cooling fan when you go KA-t?

if you can but still changed it, is there a performance/cooling issue at hand? or was it just more convenient to change to an e-fan?

thanks!

you can still run the clutch fan; but need the shroud to make it more efficient. if you do switch to electric fans, do a pull setup. with boosted ka i think electric fans are better, becuase you can control when it it turn on or off

yes can keep the stock cooling fan.

just make sure the fan that your going to change it with is sufficient. e-fan gives you more space but i heard the stock cooling fan pull more air

It will also depend to a large degree on where you live and what temperature it usually is outside.

My car is fine driving around with the factory AC fan wired up, average coolant temp is ~190.

In florida with higher heat, higher humidity, and more stop and go... i don't think my setup would work too well. So it depends on what can cool most effectively for you.

I'd recommend upgrading the cooling system. When improved upon it effects the entire motor and ALL subsystems. Running cooler prevents detonation, makes more power and will make the car over all more efficient...to include better gas mileage. A nice twins setup with a good shroud is the way to go. Save up if you have to, but it's worth the investment.

hmm

the reason im still a bit confused is because i remember my sr overheating when i had a e-fan, and from what i have read, and as r3v_v3ng3 said, the stock fan pulls more air than an e-fan. so shouldnt the stock fan be "more effective at cooling" ? also how much power can the radiator handle?

The problem is using "any" Efan. Try using one or a set that is rated at a very high CFM. The shroud is also very important. It needs to be sealed against the radiator. Or else it will just pull air through the sides and not through the radiator. Electric fans will also be better in traffic, since the clutch fan is spinning so so.
