Does anyone know if I can install a subwoofer with my stock radio. I have a 2005 g35x without the bose system.

Does the stock radio have rca inputs and a Remote turn non wire for an amp?

Yes, and no. What you can do is buy an amp with a high-level input. This is just tapping into the vehicle's speaker wires and connecting the harness to the amp. This allows the amp to be connected to any system.

I think this is how joe did his, he should be able to give a step-by-step. Its quite simple though once you get behind all of the paneling. You just connect the supplied harness to the factory speaker wires going to the rear speakers and plug the harness into the amp, and voila, you've got amp.

Yup, I have a newer MTX amp that accepts high level inputs. I used the rear seat "subs" output, soldered a wire to extend the lines to the trunk and used it for the amps input. Since the factory HD uses these speakers for the system's bass, no filtering is required. The rest of the amp install is pretty much the same. Also, my MTX uses the signal as the remote turn-on (like home theater subs).

I don't have any pics, but it really isn't that hard to do, just remove the panel and cut the speaker wires. Strip and solder the lead from the HD, and extend to your amp (make sure an use either a clip on type of connector or a butt connector.

The main power wire for you amp should go directly to your battery with an appropriate fuse. The gauge used depends on your amps current draw. (can go wrong with 4/0 gauge, unless you're pushing over 3000 watts RMS!). The ground wire should match, and be as short as possible to a good chassis ground.

If this is confusing, I recommend taking it to an installer. The finished product will look much better as they have the correct tools/materials for the job.

Taking it in to get a professional installation, would be recommended!

I generally install subs /amps / decks myself... On my POS DD that is....

The G deserves better, I went with 4 gauge wires, and an inverter to reduce the audio input levels to the amplifier spliced off the back speaker... It sounds really nice now, with the stock sub for clean mid bass, and a 10" Premier in a bassworx ported box for pure low end... it's soooo nice.

Anyone have any advice to curb the vibrations?!?! My trunk sounds like a freaking cell phone vibrating through a magnaphone.... people kinda look scared when I'm around them in traffic

Dynamat or any other sound deadening material. First thing I would do is either buy the license plate kit, or go the way I did in my Camaro and put some of the soft side of velcro tape on the back of the license plate so it will have something soft to keep it from rattling. Most of the time that's what the obnoxious rattling is.

Yes, please keep the plate from rattling...all I can do is shake my head in disgust when a car drives by and all that it sounds like is its going to fall apart.
