I have an '07 G35X. Is there any way to increase the speed of the wiper blades? I would like the current fast speed to be my slow speed. I want my fast speed to be faster than it is.

I love the car and I have very few complaints about it, but the speed of the wiper blades is not up to par. I've never been happy with the fast setting. It simply isn't fast enough to keep the windshield remotely clear during hard rain. It's also slower than most, if not all, other cars that I've driven.

If it is raining that hard where your visability is poor with the wipers on the fast speed you might want to consider pulling off the road and waiting until the rain slows down a bit?Why risk an accident in a $40k vehicleI also see vehicles that refuse to turn on their headlights in heavy rain even though it is the law in NJ when wipers are in use If its not the law nationwide it should be

Just get some "Rain X" washer fluid... I barely even use wipers.

If you really want the water to bead off, get the Rain X window treatment stuff...

Everytime I use rain X, my wiper blade doesn't work well. Is it me or does anyone else have this experience. The wiper blades seem to not want to move.

Apply rain-x to the middle of the windshield where your vision primarily is. And the blades, pour a little rubbing alcohol onto a paper towel and rub the rubber dry on the blade, it helps me.

I think I only had once when the wiper could not handle the rain. I slowed down and few minutes later pull over and seen more people with all kind of cars did the same. I don't see the problem with the blade speed. Also surprisingly the blades lost lot longer than my any other car I had. On my 07 I traded in with the original blades after around 50000km and 2 years. Had no sign of wear on them. I use my car all year around snow hot summer.

its because you have the new blade design. Aerodynamic, and equalized pressure with solid structure. I LOVE the new blades. Shame I can't get it to fit on my sedan...

Really? Wiper blade speed?

If you want your current fast speed as your slow speed, your going to look like one of those f'in goofy people who don't know how to use their wiper switch in the first place when it's misting. Then your blades are going to make a lot of noise.

Blade speed is fine by me. Try some RainX and if you're driving when you can't see out your windshield when it's raining, you're just plain driving too fast for conditions.

Or try moving your lever down a notch or two and you'll get the really fast.

++1 on the rain-X.

I have noticed that if I haven't applied it in a long time, I'll have to do 2 back-2-back applications or it'll leave a haze. I simply love that stuff! I have even put some on my buddies car when he wasn't aware, and he was, "I thought it was hardly raining until I stepped out of my car!"

The stuff is magic or something! If you haven't tried it, it works great in the snow as well...but once you start getting alot of debris/dirt from the road (in the snow, I've noticed this) then you'll ahev to use the wipers more...but I have never noticed the speed was too slow. If it has been raining a lot, then it will only last a couple weeks before you'll be putting more of it on!

I also love the windshield washer nozzles. The are awesome. Love how they put it under the hood. Nice clean hood line and it won't freeze at winter time.

Love it.

Trust me, the fast speed on my G is much slower than many other cars. It's not my travel speed, either. I'm going to have to try Rain X again. The blades are new; they were just replaced 2k miles ago. I've never been satisfied with the wiper speed in moderately heavy to heavy rain.

But here's the thing about wiper speed. There's only so fast it can go to be effective. Any faster is just excess, which I think is the case with many other cars. I've had other cars with faster wipers, but in those cars I didn't use the fastest speed. Other cars, you have the wipers going so fast that they become more of a distraction than they are providing a safe view.
