Post

Okay so here goes. I have read the "read this before you post" and I have searched. It has been eluded to, but not answered.

I bought the car making a little noise on passenger rear. Figured it needed new tires. Got some. Making increasingly worse noise, wobbles, and jerks when I hit a pothole or anything else in the road. Went to mechanic today and he said passenger rear wheel bearings gone. My service contract only covers front. He wants $270 for the job. My husband went to Advance and found out the bearings only cost $130 and was led to beleive that we could do the job ourselves as it "only involves a few bolts". My husband is under the impression we can take off one plate and put on the other.

Now, I have done some reading. I don't know what "pressed in" means, but I've read enough to know it's not something we can do ourselves. A direct answer please...Can we, ourselves, replace the rear wheel bearings on our 2000 Infiniti I30? If so, is it any more difficult than replacing an alternator, set of freeze plugs, or belts, etc which we've done on different models in the past?

Thank you for help guys. I think we're looking at doing this tomorrow.
