Scrape out all the lasagna cupcakes you've been brewing in there and it's good to go. no honing required.

To further confuse you... Think about this: The SR block is aluminum and should not rust.

When I took my head off my SR last sunday, I noticed there was rusty looking gunk in my water neck. Everything else looked immaculate... Apparently something else is, also, not aluminum.

The story with this engine:It was an S14 SR. The customer said he was driving down the road and noticed a loss in power. Looked down and the temp sensor was pegged. Pulled off and had it towed home, where it has sat for the past ~9months.Headgasket had blown and let water into the cylinders (which are steel sleeved, and will rust). Temperatures got so hot that plastic was melting (picture of the melted knock sensor below), coilpacks destroyed, etc. Turbo seized. We drained 2 gallons of water out of the oil pan. Crazy stuff.
