i've misplaced my fsm and have a problem that's driving me--well, my neighbors actually--batty. it's a 93q and the alarm keeps going off randomly--sometimes when it's parked, but even more startling, sometimes when i'm driving it. as a quick fix one day while in the parking lot, i pulled the horn fuse, thinking that would quiet it. lo, it's not the actual car horn that's blaring, as it went off again. then i thought, well, nobody in my neighborhood steals qs, so i pulled the anti theft relay from under the hood. nope, not that one either. my guess is that the anti theft computer has gone old and senile, but i'm not feeling up to replacing it yet. can anybody tell me, bearing in mind that i don't have the fsm on me, how to identify and then disable the alarm horn? many thanks. randy

The alarm horn is bolted on the driverside shock tower....near master cylinder. Does yours flash lights?

Usual problems are corrosion/bad ground in door or lock or hood switch.

Not sure there are many places in US where an old Q would be stolen at least by a professional. Small market for parts if stock wheels and radio.

I've been told that unplugging the under-hood switch will disable it by an alarm installer. I researched this at some point and thought that he was probably right - but I never tested it for sure...

Good luck!
