What? Yes, parts are very affordable. For this car, the fuel filter is just under $15 at Autozone... in stock, not a weird special order.
Ya know, years ago, actually it was 1997, I was talked out of buying a Nissan because someone had heard the parts were expensive. It's funny, because I was looking at getting a 240SX. Well, I didn't get it. I had some lame cars until I got around to getting a 240SX. When I did get one, I realized I'd been totaling missing out on a fun car. Not to mention, once I started having to do repairs, the parts weren't that expensive at all! I don't know what was going on in that era for Nissan, but they had some sort of reputation I guess. It wasn't backed up by reality in my experience.
Anyway, when you go to check out the car, bring and OBD-2 scanner with you. It's a 95, but likely has the OBD-2 port that you can plug into and check for bad sensors and such... possibly on the passenger side, near the center console, just under the bottom lip of the dash (at least, that's where it is in my 95 240sx).
