I want to eliminate the Pcv valve from the valve cover, and rethread it to install -AN fitting.

My current setup now, I have a vacuum line from the intake manifold going into the pcv on the valve cover. It seen like I am having a air leak there, so my question is can I eliminate the Pcv valve and plugged it with straight vacuum coming from the intake manifold.

Btw I have oil catch already install, and have 1 line going to the valve cover and the other 1 to the maf pipe.

Something like this

Sure, depends on your method tho, you can also use a 1/2NPT interrupted tap and plug it

Dude, you will have an even bigger boost leak than before and may even blow out some seals, if you connect your intake manifold to the valve cover without a check valve. Do you understand what a PCV does? If you want to eliminate the pcv that bad, at least plug it off. Better yet actually fix the air leak you have now.

He is proposing detaching the pcv line altogether and running all thru a catch can and into the intake, not the intake manifold.

I don't see that at all from his post. The way its worded it seems he wants to remove the PCV, rethread for an AN fitting and plumb to intake manifold. He also mentions he has a catch tank attached to the upper valve cover vents and to the intake, which is technically irrelevant to his original question. Maybe the OP should clarify his questions.

Something like this, eliminated the Pcv valve and straight vacuum from the intake manifold. Picture below

that would not be correct you would boost the crankcase... Now if you plug the intake manifold hole, and the rocker cover you are good to go... infact... thats what I do

Block Intake manifold vacuum, rethread Pcv housing and install air filter. Everything else should be find how it is right?

being that the rb26 already has oil surge issues wouldn't this be a bad idea?

It isn't necessary to have a PCV valve, but you can't leave the valve cover connected to the intake manifold if you remove it.

how fast does your catch can fill with that setup? i've been debating doing the same thing since it would quite literally still leave the crank case under vacuum at all times.
