I don't think you can pick up a swap with an automatic, but i'm not completely sure of that. I hope you're not planning to bolt an sr20 block to the ka24 transmission are you? Why would you want an automatic sr20 anyway? That's an insult to sr20 fans around the planet

you could do an auto SR, it would be lame but doable.

It would be better to just do Maual even if its a daily. My dayly driver is a 5spd SR. My track car is a 5sp SR.

imo its alot better driving experience and u drive the car more.

It's actually a pretty good idea to import in an automatic SR

think about it.. automatics are usually driven a hell of a lot easier then 5spd's are.

Arrange to get a 5spd transmission somewhere in the states and you're set

Yes, you can swap a SR20DET with an automatic transmission.

If you are looking to keep your KA transmission. Simply swap the bellhousings and your done with transmission work.

Because he wants to swap to automatic. Have you ever stopped to think that some drag racers prefer automatic transmissions over a manuel transmissions.

Another thing.....what does learning how to drive stick have anything to do with being a man?

cause like 70% of girls are affraid to drive a stick... the other 30% "think" they can drive one.

I can understand if he went KA-T and stayed with the automatic. But with the money that you dish out for an SR...you might as well make the most out of the engine. Just my 2 cents.

your kidding right? i'm sure they'd preferred sequential over anything. also... 5 speed > 4 speed any day, regardless

I say make it an auto. That's probably the path I'm gonna take. Just alot easier to get around where I live with an auto.

I'd have to agree that going auto is pretty pointless. Although it somewhat makes sense since autos don't loose boost like manuals do when your shifting. Probably better for the turbo too Still seems pointless to go auto with a car typically used for drifting in which a manual is almost a must. Manuals keep you on your feet and they're alot more fun.

Unless you are building an uber drag car... I see no point.

That's what I was planning for mine. Daily driver, with occasional 1/4 mile track. Just a mild drag.

Auto SR=Power Breaking to build boost on the line and some nasty burnouts. I have been considering throwing one in my girls car just to do it since hers is a daily driver and she wants something she can just get in and go and not have to deal with shifting in stop and go traffic on a daily basis.

Been considering going sr auto as well. Get a front clip that is auto to begin with, much easier!
