2021 Rogue - Looking to disable rear seat belt chime.

Hello,

I just got my 2021 Rogue. The other day I had my dog in the back seat (who gets strapped in with a harness connected to child seat anchors). When she would lay across the seat I had no issues, however when she sat up to look out the window I would get constant beeping with the rear seat belt warning light on. I was wondering if anyone had some success at turning the rear seat belt alert off? I would imagine there would be a way to turn it off in case using the back seat for pets or heavier items that don't use a seat belt. The only thing I have been able to find in owner manual is that it turns off after 15 seconds (which would work for static items) but since she moves around it is keeps restarting that 15 seconds.

My guess would be that you can not turn it off.

Sadly I'm guessing you're correct, and i get the reason its there. I was just hoping there was a way to turn it off for the dog who doesn't use a seat belt.

If you don't have any other passengers in the back seat you could always fold the seats down flat and that might solve your problem.

You should be able to kill it just by buckling all the rear belts.

Yep, just buckle the rear seat belts. Or Google seatbelt silencers. Either method should work.

Have an indie shop reprogram the module that is related to the seat belt to disable the chime.

Interesting enough, this audible chime was not there for the 2nd Rogues at all.

The chime is from the Combination Meter and it isn't reprogrammable. Neither is the BCM, for security reasons. You might ask first before sending someone on a wild goose chase.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'll be grabbing a seatbelt silencer (didn't know those were a thing before). Much appreciated!
