can i buy a single power steering line?

I have a very bad power steering leak. I beleive its from a metal line from the rack and pinion to the blue block where pressure hose, and power pressure switch. When I went to the dealers they said that i would have to buy the whole assembly. is this correct? It was really hard to explain to the guy what i was looking for since I didn't know what the line was called. can someone help me out. i don't want to fork out $299 or one line. I own a 92 240sx se.

The dealer is screwing you around. He's got a computer program for parts that has exploded diagrams and he could have easily pulled it up and let you pick from it. May try a local parts store too, but they won't have that diagram. Perhaps get a good partsman to come out to the car and look at it. Some of those parts shops can custom make a line for your needs.

I'm getting this problem done in the backyard. The way you figure it out is have your car on idle and check which hose is leaking. We had somoene in the car steer really fast and we saw it come from a gold ball joint. it's not very hard but the right tools are necessary we didnt have a wrench tha tbig so we had to use a crescent and it took forever. try checking whats leaking yourself first before getting gipped by the dealer they usually charge 300+ just for a basic repair and it takes 15-20mins at most

I also got a leak where the gold ball joint is at. its probably a seal leak but im going to replace the hose just in case.
