can i buy a key form ebay?

i lost my key and i need a replacement. i saw on ebay that they have the key and the remote but i know that the remote can be program..what about the key?

the key can be cut. and the remote can be programmed..... do you have the little paper that the dealer gave you with the keys ?

is there a paper anywehre that came with the keys that has the code on it ? they told me if i lost it that they would have to reprogram teh whole cars system and give me new keys because that has all your cars keying info on it.

That metal tag is supposed to be held in a secure place... like a passport/birth cert..

Yes LBC, you are spot on... at the dealership, the cost of the fob alone is ~ $40, the cost of the fob with the key is ~$70, the cost to program two key fobs is ~ $70.... so if you need to replace both keys and key fobs, and get them programmed, your cost will be a little over $200

i only loss one key but im need another one in case...i cant find my metal tag no more. what if the i have key cant i just buy one key w/ fob and program that one with the one i have or i have to reprogram the whole car because i dont have the tag or the paper?

I have a extra key fob that i am selling. when i asked my dealer they said they could reprogram it in a minute and it was a free charge. if you want it send me an email and ill be happy to send it to you.
