Hey guys, over the past few day i have been taking the rear suspension apart to put new ES bushings in. So far on the suspension arms, toe, upper and lower control arms, i have burned those bushings out. On the rear knuckle itself, is it ok to burn those bushings out? The instructions say to machine press em out, why is that? I understand machine pressing them in cuz they are tighter that s**t . Anyways is it safe to burn em out, or just machine press em.

Thanks

How much do you about cars and who the heck tell you, you could burn bushings off?? You have to press it put because it's a actually metal with the rubber bushings inside, when you press it out with a press machine! You have to press the new one back in. You need to go to a shop to use a press.

Dude im just trying to get some help. Anyways, if I read what fairladyzz wrote correctly, you have to press because the outer sleeve of the bushing needs to come out also.

So to compare and make sure, you could burn out the FLCA bushing because they wanted the bushing sleeve left in. You have to press these out, cuz the sleeve needs to come out.

Not trying to bash on you but yes, the metal sleeve needs to come out with the rubber bushing.

I know I'm a little late but I used a combo of heating up the outer housing, pushing out the bushing and using a bushing puller to get the metal shell out.

I took pictures and video of my strategy:

Did anyone have a negative experience with their arms after using heat?
