currently I have 245/40/17's mounted on 8" wide rims in the rear and 215/45/17's on 7.5" wide in front. My fronts have REALLY bad camber wear right now and i do have some understeer going on. I planned on getting wider for the front but I am getting a set of 235/45/17's for free today.

I checked the specs on tirerack and the 235/45's will be .7" taller than the rears. will this be a problem and will it be noticable that the fronts are taller? I dont want to do it if its going to look like crap or hurt the performance in any way.

it wont hurt performance but the front will ride .35 inches higher than the rear.

i just had them put on and they look and feel great, the sidewalls look the same height. they were yokohama AVS S1-Z's , they look pretty good. Only problem is the damn tire shop put one on backwards so its rotating the wrong way and now their shop is closed till monday.

If the difference is large enough it will confuse your ABS, if you have one.

no abs here, my car is the stripped down model, no sunroof, no abs, no power locks or antenna, and the best part is no OBD-2 crap

i was wondering, is there a way to recalibrate the abs unit for staggered tire sizes? ive never done or heard of it before.

Why is OBD2 crap? ... It's very handy when you have a diagnostic problem.

well, maybe its not crap, I thought it made smog issues more complicated and added a mess of vacuum lines in the engine bay, I have actually never worked on an OBD-2 240 so I cant really say.
