So here's the deal: I know that many people on here HATE these lights (especially the chrome ones) but I'm not so sure--in fact I'm more or less split on the issue of whether or not they look good on my V. (For the record, though, if I loved them outright, I wouldn't be afraid to admit it to you guys).

I decided to shell out the $75 for a pair on flea-bay, thinking that even if they only last a few months (moisture) I might still get my money's worth of enjoyment out of them. On the one hand, they're obviously priced so low for a reason. On the other, how can I resist? It's almost worth it just to satisfy my curiosity. So they arrived today. The pic below is of the light just kind of resting there crookedly (and the hatch isn't closed) but you can more or less see how it would look.

Now I'm like: "How the hell did RussianBull do this?" I know he's not the only one either--there are some V owners on other forums that have the black ones. If anyone has any ideas how to mod the stupid fittings, let me know. RussianBull--what did you do?

My personal opinion is that you should leave a CF hood unpainted because honestly when you think about it, no one is going to know that its CF if its painted. And why waste your money on a $660 hood and paint it when you could just say that your stock hood is CF and no one will know any better. Besides your only losing about 30 pounds from the stock hood.

When I had mine put on, because my car was already at the bodyshop I had him do it because I figured he would have expertise in making them fit right, and he did... I had them off to change a bulb, but they fit perfectly, not moisture or leaking at all.

This is what he did, the bulb is supposed to fit a (3-prong) housing, two of the tabs will line up with the 4 prong on the altezzas, simply trim one of the other tabs to make the third fit in. They fit so tight and will still twist in to lock. If I have time I will try and pull it off and post a picture...

As far as how they look if you like them then who cares, it is YOUR car. I will take all the criticism in the world if I am happy with them. And was even pleasantly suprised that quite a few people said they liked them. Good luck, PM me if you have any specific questions.

Thanks Woody. I'll try again today.

Last night I removed the factory tail light and just sat there staring at the back of it for like ten minutes. I put it back on and walked away. An hour later I took it off again and just sat there staring at it. I thought of splitting the whole unit in half and attaching the front of the Altezza to the back of the factory unit and then resealing it with some aftermarket sealer, but I decided against it because I want to keep my red lights, not destroy them.

I'll let you know how it goes.

What do you expect from crappy $75 dollar Altezza's? You usually get what you pay for when it comes to things like these. I can't believe I'm saying this, Russianbulls Altezza's look better, but thats not saying much.

I thought I explained myself pretty clearly...

1) I knew they didn't fit before I bought them.2) People have been able to mod them. Now I'm just asking HOW.3) I bought them BECAUSE they were so cheap. I even said in my first post that you get what you pay for. But thanks for making sure I haven't forgotten yet.

I'll be honest. They look like **** and make the rear of your car look like **** too. Did they send you NOS stickers with them? You have a good looking car, try to keep it that way.

Just shoot 4 coats of Nightshades on them and clear the hell out of them.

I dont understand why people dont go to versaspeed.com and get stuff from there. There's a lot of good stuff thats guaranteed to fit and doesnt look horrible. Buy the blacked out taillights if you really need a light fix.

#1 - I'm digging the chrome with the white. It's different and looks clean.

#2 - I think carbon fiber should be left exposed. The pattern is sexy.

those lights look reaaalll dope IMO

maybe one or two coats of niteshades also? mainly because i think anything chrome with the exception of rims creates the tackiest look.
