can bad gas do this?

check engine light came on and i went to autozone to check the codes. he said knock sensor 1 and egr flow malfunction. light came on last night when i got off the highway, checked and erased the codes today, and then it came back on when i got off the highway as i was driving today. i filled up on gas yesterday in an area that i usually dont since i was on E and was wondering if bad gas could cause this?

bad gas would not cause egr flow to be disrupted directly.
