Last car I bought my wife was a base model. I added on fog lights, power locks, remote start and... something else I forget right now.

All was OEM factory stuff, and bolted right into existing harnesses.

Her 13 Rogue does have the bigger stereo head, and backup camera, but doesn't have that around view. I think it's of questionable utility, but if it's easy to source inexpensively, I'd like to add it.

I am guessing I need the fancy grille with the camera in it, whatever assemblies go in the side mirrors, and probably a controller. Oh, and the activation switch in the center console.

Does Nissan follow (older) Toyota in just putting the premium harness in, and adding features, or is this really a fools' errand? :ohno:

Thanks!

BINGO!

Her vehicle may have a larger (than base model) HU, but it isn't the correct one for processing the video signals. The last time anyone on here checked, there was only one Chinese company that made a compatible aftermarket HU. As for the upgraded wiring, that's going to be a gamble, but given the fact that you currently don't have any wiring going to the grille I'm gonna go with it ain't there. And yes you'll need to replace the front grille and both exterior mirrors.

You might be able to source the grille from a salvage yard, as a new one will set you back $674.73 (not including tax and shipping).
The mirrors will be about $238.64 each.

How did you add remote start? My car has the intelli keys and I have been struggling to find a way that would integrate it in an "OEM" way....I checked with a local car accessories installer and they said they would add a separate module with a dedicated remote :wtf2: . I am not particularly thrilled about carrying 2 remotes!!!!

That was her previous car.

The current one, I haven't added it yet.

Best way I can seem to explain the two fob system is you have (in older cars) a metal key, and a remote start fob.

In this Rogue, you have an Intellikey, and a remote start fob.

The reason it is an issue, it appears, is that the intellikey has a short transmit distance for security purposes. Nobody seems to have come up with an aftermarket remote start fob that also encapsulates the intellikey transponder yet, as far as I can tell. (shrugs)
